It's particularly exquisite because there is that brand of "Libertarian" Republican who is only too fond of reciting TANSTAAFL at the drop of a rhetorical hat.

I wish she'd write more. She has been a role-model for my writing for going on 20 years (and that sounds so strange... I don't feel that old). If my descriptive writing of place and time have any evocative craft it is from reading her talk about a trip up the San Joaquin Valley one spring. (I can see her going aw shucks, as she reads this, and not quite blushing behind the twinkly smile.

So, listen to her, and disseminate.
